Ramon Puig Cuyàs was born in Matarò, Barcelona, where he grew up watching the sea from the window of his house. Gazing at the passing ships in the Mediterranean, Puig Cuyas imagined traveling to far off lands and exotic ports . At night when the stars were out, he looked through his telescope and dreamed of exploring the universe. This gave him a thirst for discovery which he later channeled into his jewelry and art.
Puig Cuyas was educated at the Massana School, Department of Jewelry in Barcelona where he is currently the head of the jewelry department. He has won many awards including the Prize “Fi de Carrera” Fundacio General Meditteranea, Barcelona in 1975.
