Philip Baldwin & Monica Guggisberg answer the question: Can sculptural glass be viewed in the same way as a painting? The body of work that they refer to as “Frames” does just that. The artists take individual blown glass objects and assemble them within a steel frame that hangs on the wall. The end result is similar to an abstract painting, but with much more depth. The title is a suggestion for the viewer in perceiving the overall effect of the piece.
